Welcome to Campbell, California.
The city's economy, formerly tied to fruit and vegetable processing, is now based on the computer industry. Located in the West Valley of Santa Clara, Campbell is a delightful community where tradition and progress combine in a successful blend. Benjamin Campbell, Campbell's founder, came West in 1846 with his family.
Campbell has grown from a small farming community with a population of approximately 5,000 to a progressive community with a population of over 38,000. The Bank of Campbell, now called the Farley Building, is Campbell's oldest commercial building. President Theodore Roosevelt visited Campbell in 1903. He came at the request of Professor J. Fred Smith, the first principal of Campbell Union High School. While here, President Roosevelt planted a redwood tree on the school grounds. The Campbell Union High School closed its doors in 1980 and now serves as a community center, providing a meeting place for a variety of clubs and organizations.
Campbell was first known for its churches, which once directed community life.

Campbell is a city located in Silicon Valley that boasts small-town charm. From its well-maintained rows of houses nestled into tree-lined streets to the community recreation centers, this is an ideal place for raising a young family.
A majority of the town was built during a boom in the 1960's, yet housing styles in the mainly family-oriented community range from stately Victorian homes to elegantly designed Modern homes. The city is home to light industry, and also a stellar school system. The elementary and high schools both rank in the top ten percent of public schools in the state of California.
The city sports delightful restaurants. The Pruneyard Shopping Center and Towers provide much of the draw for shopping and commerce in the area. Town parks contain amphitheatres, areas for water recreation, tennis courts. There is also a community fitness center. The Ainsley House, and the Historical Museum strive to keep the culture and history of the area alive and vibrant. are still standing in Calabasas may be 500-700 years-old today. .
With its charming historical downtown, safe streets, strong sense of community, highly regarded schools and relatively modest real estate prices, Campbell has become one of the Santa Clara Valley's most desireable residential communities.
When it comes to location, location, location, Campbell has all three. Campbell sits just a short drive away from Mineta International Airport, Silicon Valley's work places, San Jose's cultural attractions, Santa Cruz mountain wineries and Santa Cruz beaches.
